15 Battlefield Hardline Improvements Made Since the Last Beta

We’re thrilled to get your feedback on the Battlefield Hardline beta, available now on all platforms.

Receiving player feedback is a huge part of development, and you’ve influenced the direction of the game in a big way. We take your comments to heart, and we’ve rounded up all the small things that we’ve tweaked in the game since the last beta when the game was announced at E3.

Scroll down to dig in.

1) Gadget Master Class
The dev team cast a vote for the new name of the “mechanic” class, and the results were split right down the middle. This class still called the mechanic but now serves as the “Gadget Master”, and includes upgraded SMG’s and Sat Phone amongst other perks.

2) A Cleaner Customize Screen
Look for a new layout to the customize screen, which should make it easier to manage your gear and weapon attachments.

3) More Interactions
The dev team has spent time adding more options to the game. In the latest beta, look for interactive objects like doors, radios, ammo lockers, and more!

4) Longer Rounds
The team received feedback during the beta aimed at the quick progression of rounds. We’ve made tweaks to both Heist and Blood Money that should help make the experiences last longer without sacrificing any of the fun.

5) Less Explosions
The first beta featured plenty of over-the-top explosions and heavy weaponry. You’ll notice tweaks to reduce the frequency of explosions this time around.

6) A Cleaner HUD
The dev team heard feedback about the HUD being too similar to the one in Battlefield 4. You’ll notice some small tweaks to the display, including a clearer mini-map and clearer objective icons.

7) Stronger Vehicles
The dev team heard from gamers that vehicles were too easily destroyed in the last beta, and that is now adjusted. You’ll notice increase survivability of the utility van, as well.

8) More Sensitive Audio
In some of the game modes in Battlefield Hardline, situational awareness is very important. The dev team has been working on improving the audio cues in the environment to make it easier to detect enemies. You’ll hear louder footsteps behind you, as well as ambient sounds like rain and radio audio.

9) Adjusted interrogation
The dev team has been working to tweak interrogation to make it both more useful and less powerful at the same time.

10) Faster Movement
During the first beta, player speed was increased 10% and players running with pistols were given a +10% bonus, so you’ll notice quicker movement.

11) Camera Tweaks
During the first beta, we heard from fans who didn’t like how the camera “bounced” when you were being suppressed. You’ll notice that your situational awareness will still be affected while being suppressed, but your aimpoint is not. Also, we’ve toned down the camera shake that you’ll experience during high tension moments.

12) Nerfing Survivalist
Since the first beta, we adjusted survivalist to now only revive you from explosions or road kills, countering those more frustrating deaths that some were experiencing.\

13) More Visual Feedback
If you couldn’t find an overhead objective, you might be glad to know that more visual feedback has been added to help you track down your next checkpoint.

14) Faster Vehicles
The new handbrake for cars allows you to drift, and new tuning for vehicles makes the cars in Battlefield Hardline the fastest in franchise history.

15) Sweet Spots in Heavy Vehicles
It should be easier to bring down heavily armored vehicles from behind. You’ll find new weak spots in the rear of the heavily armored vehicles.

Loving the beta but need a little help? Get a few tips from the experts before you get back out on the Battlefield.

I disagree with some of these improvements. I consider customising to be worse. I never know where to click. And it feels like we're slower in this. Unless I'm just too used to the speed movement of BF4. I can't stand the aiming. Something is off about it for me. I die far too easily when trying to follow an enemy moving sideways. I've no idea if it's the recoil that affects it for me, or something else that's been done. It was fine in the first beta. Should be an ADS sensitivity as well.

Why is it that I can run battlefield 4 on ultra and can't run hardline on low? I don't have internet problems at all. I meet all computer specs as well.

I like the improvements made from the previous beta--definitely a better game. I know it's a beta, but I've noticed that buildings/walls etc. are not destructible. Hopefully this is just isolated to the beta and the real game will have destructible environments. For me the destructible environments is what attracted me to the franchise and led me to stop playing COD completely. When I'm going to enter a house I love the option of using the door, or blowing a hole in the wall.

Enjoying the beta but I don't like the guns, shotguns seem too powerful and everyone seems to use them, not sure if I like the impact sounds when shooting people on this, Battlefield 4 has really good audio feedback when you are shooting people

Actually BF4 doesn't have that great of feedback BF3 had really good feedback and you could each bullet hitting you. BF4 you only get every couple or so. BF4 and Hardline are about the same in that aspect

So what the devs are saying is a grenade can't destroy the van or the cars in one hit? grrrr that was one of the things I liked about the first beta the explosive rounds actually had some kick.

I like that there is soundtrack to the game. I love being able to drive around with music emanating from the stereo. Better, hearing from an enemy's/friendly's vehicle when they're passing by, under, and over. If the beta is this great, I cannot wait for the game to release!

I really liked the beta on the PS4. Tried to play it on the PC but the game was crashing and the lag was unbearable. I was so frustrated that i uninstalled the PC version before I figured one of the problems. The game was running on my intel graphics card. Anyway back to the PS4 beta. It's amazing. The text in the customization menu is too small in some sections and it is a bit complicated. In hotwire mode, explosives are very annoying, someone takes down a car with full health in one shot.

Hello there! Overall I like the beta very much, I`ve been playing on xbox ONE MANY HOURS AND ARRIVED RANK 43. SAW FEW GLITCHES LIKE: GLITCH 1: Sniper laying on ground in front of me, and his legs were under the concrete.Only his upper body was above. GLITCH 2: Often when someone gets shot, the body is just hanging in the air. IMPORTANT. SUGGESTIONS: 1.In the customization menu, the font size of the description is to small and to hard to read! U can minimize the pic of the weapon instead! 2. T

    2. The gun attachments like the scopes r always shown from the length side and NOT from the POINT OF VIEW, which WOULD B MUCH EASIER AND QUICKER TO CHOOSE A SPECIFIC SCOPE. IT SHOULD BE SHOWN EXACTLY A PIC LIKE WHEN U LOOK TROUGH THE SCOPE! 3. IN HOTWIRE MODE THERE HAS TO B A REVIEW IN THE CARS IN 1ST PERSON VIEW,cause u cant see anything what's happening BEHIND U! Also U SHOULD B ABLE TO TURN THE CAM VIEW LIKE IN GTA, AT LEAST FROM RIGHT TO LEFT IN 3RD PERSON VIEW! 4. The player should have the

    4. The player should have the possibility to choose his color for each item of clothing, (cap,beany,ski-mask, baggies, wests, shirts, chemise and so on. 5. And last but not least. A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. Pls DONT PUT ANY PICTURES OR STUFF WHICH INSULTS THE RELIGION OR RACE FROM ANYONE! I saw a graffity in the garage where u can see a man who represents Jesus showing the LA gang sign. In my eyes this is not acceptable at all, and the only reason why I wouldn't buy this game! I forgot to mention, the pic of Jesus showing LA sign is in the garage of the gangstaz in downtown LA map. In front of the graffiti is a stinger. So be so kind and take out this graffiti out the game. Thx

EA, wtf happend, I was hoping for a 2015 game of battlefield I could actually call decent, what an abomination. Stick to the bad *** racing series and stop the horrid battlefield crap. Battlefield has alway and always will be trash, I understand that battlefield is suppose to be a prime, yet the games always feels fake with vehicle control all the way to battle play. I was playing hardline on ps4 and it feels worse than battlefieldplayforfree, stop adjusting the minor crap. Fix the whole thing.

The snipers don't have enough damage on hardcore.. I'm pretty pissed how many less weapons are in hardline compared to bf4, such a downgrade and gets boring faster. Are they gonna bring in a ton of weapons, and maybe old/more new maps through expansion packs or "premium"..? I like the new feel of the game. Its deff going in the right direction, the way you unlock attachments way faster compared to bf4. Along with the amazing new maps. I play a lot, deff on the better side but hardcore only. js
